With external work on hold due to poor weather, work removing plaster from the internal walls of the cottage commenced with some more interesting finds.
The first job is the kitchen. The black mould is the result of the plaster causing damp by trapping the moist within the stone wall. This applied to the whole of the cottage but was only visible in this part of the kitchen where the cabinets were.
Next, the lounge was cleared of the rubbish accumulated and the old electric fire was dismantled and plaster was taken out to reveal an original part of the cottage.
