Work has started on renovating the Annexe to allow us to live comfortably whilst major work is done to the cottage pointing the walls, installing underfloor heating and basically putting it back together.
Photos make work at the cottage seem easy and quick. Although progress is quick, it does feel at times some tasks take a long time to complete. From Saturday morning we awake to the Sunday evening when work ceases for another week, it is surprising how much work is done at times.
August 2019
It’s surprising how quick the last month passed by and August is here already. This month’s focus has been to remove all the plaster from the walls and take down the ceiling to see what work for the roof is required.
Removing the plaster has been an easier task than expected purely because it was screwed to a wooden frame that was already screwed to the walls.
The bathroom in the Annexe was the only operating part of the Annexe that has been used since the cottage was purchased. With this needing to be taken out for work to be done, a temporary arrangement to have a proper shower in the caravan has been made. This makes living in the caravan more tolerable until the Annexe is ready for use to move into.
